YIP is open for normal indoor services.
​​​​​​​Based on CDC guidance and the advice of our Health Advisory Committee, masks are required for everyone (vaccinated and not) indoors. The situation is fluid and we will continue to communicate policy changes as needed.

We regret to inform you of the passing of Billy Gerald Clontz, Father of Tim Clontz.  The burial will take place this weekend in South Carolina. Tim will be returning to his home in Plainview 64 Jamaica Ave on Tuesday to sit shiva. He will be accepting visitors on Tuesday evening.

Upcoming Programs

Youth Announcements

With the High Holidays now behind us, we want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our Youth group offerings every Shabbat Morning starting at 10:00am.

Children Pre-K and under are welcome to play in the large room upstairs.  We have numerous child-safe toys for kids of all ages (including kids below the age of 2) and at 10:45am every Shabbat morning, there will be Tot Shabbat for the kids.  Note, this room is for children being supervised by parents only. Children must not be left unsupervised, and older children are not permitted in this room if they are not accompanied by a parent.

Groups for Grades K-1 and 2-3 will take place in the smaller rooms upstairs.  These rooms are drop off and the children will be supervised by our group leaders.

Groups for Grades 4-6 will take place in the Beit Midrash.

On nice days, we try to have the groups for Grades K-6 spend time outside in the Shul Backyard on Shabbat morning.
Please note, it is important that no child be left unsupervised in Shul on Shabbat morning. Children who are not in groups or serving as group leaders must be in Shul with parents.  Additionally, all children are reminded to follow our Covid protocols both inside and out. We thank everyone for their cooperation for helping to ensure our Shabbat morning youth groups are successful

Food Pantry
The Mid-Island Y JCC Is proud to announce Project Replenish. With support from the local Jewish community, we are helping to alleviate hunger insecurity among our neighbors. The Jewish Communal Fund Food Pantry at the Mid-Island Y JCC provides seniors, individuals and families with essential food, toiletry and household items. Donations will benefit the Mid-Island Y JCC’s Jewish Communal Fund Food Pantry & The Hatzilu Rescue Organization.  The donation bin is located in the coatroom. No glass or expired food, please.​​​

The eiruv matzahs can be found under the Aron Kodesh in the Beis Midrash.
 
If you want an announcement included in the weekly e-mail, you must send it, in an editable format (no pdf's) to announcements@yiplainview.org ​​​​​​​no later than the Tuesday prior to the Shabbat on which you want the announcement to appear.
​​​​​​​Community announcements will not ordinarily be made on Shabbat morning, but will be included in this e-mail.
