Rules for Chametz After Pesach Please do NOT use the Chametz in your home until after 9:15pm on Sunday night (4/4/2021) to allow for its repurchase. Shoprite and Bagel Boss are Jewish owned, but have sold their Chametz. Therefore… All Chametz products that were delivered BEFORE Pesach or AFTER Pesach are permitted for purchase immediately. For example, one may purchase shelf stable goods such as cereal, crackers, as well as frozen goods immediately, as they were probably purchased before Pesach. So too, one may purchase fresh bagels, bread, and Challah as of Monday (4/5/2021) morning as they were produced after Pesach. Chametz products delivered on Pesach may be subject to prohibition. Therefore packaged breads which were probably delivered on Pesach may not be purchased. One should wait at least one week to ensure that the shelved merchandise has turned over. Chametz items from businesses not owned by Jews may be purchased immediately.
