Normally the pre-fast meal consists of a piece of bread and one cooked item (usually an egg). Many have the practice to add ashes to their food.

12:30 Movie: Serving on All Fronts - Highlighting the national service and sacrifice of the students and faculty of Yeshivat Har Etzion and Migdal Oz in the current war in Israel
1:30PM - Mincha Gedola with Tefillin and Tallit
6:15PM - Chafetz Chaim Heritage Foundation Video
7:20PM - Mincha Ketana with Tefillin and Tallit
8:00PM - Maariv 
8:34PM - Fast Ends 

Laws of Tish’ Bav
No eating/drinking
No Washing (showers, baths)
Sanitizer or soap washing may be used (according to CDC recommendations) to remove dirt or germs from the hands. 
Anointing 
Moisturizers are prohibited 
Sunscreen is permitted
Deodorant is permitted (not on Yom Kippur)
Wearing leather shoes 
Leather shoes with rubber soles are prohibited
Marital Relations are prohibited

The Mourning
We sit on the floor until midday (8/13 - 12:58PM)
Only Torah study related to mourning is permitted. 
Work is prohibited until midday
We do not greet one another
Tallis and Tefillin are not worn at Shacharit

We regret to inform you of the passing of Liudmila (Baba), Mother of Nina Hoch.  ​​​​

We regret to inform you of the passing of Ezra Kahn, brother of Sam Kahn. 
Sam will be sitting Shiva at 774 Arthur St in West Hempstead through Friday afternoon (8/9) then returning to his home 18 Brook Path in Plainview
Shiva times as follows: Saturday 8/10- 9:15PM - 11:00PM
Sun. 8/11, Mon. 8/12, Tues. 8/13 (9th of Av)  - 10:00AM - 6:30PM
8:30PM - 10:00PM (Sunday and Tuesday only)
There will be no minyanim in the Shiva house.
