Upcoming Programs

Youth Announcements

The Youth Committee is pleased to announce that we will be hiring babysitters to provide supervision for our younger children on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. A complete schedule of the exact dates and times for babysitting can be found below. To ensure the safety of the children, as well as the protection of the Shul's property, we ask that parents ensure that children are not in the rooms upstairs at times when no babysitter is on duty. Please note the following with respect to babysitting: 
1) While the babysitters will hopefully engage and play with the children, the babysitters will not be running formal group activities. The babysitter's primary roles will be to ensure the safety of the children in the rooms and the protection of the Shul's property. Children who are too young to be left alone without constant close supervision should not be left alone upstairs with the babysitters. If you would not feel comfortable with leaving your child alone in groups on Shabbat morning. you should not send your child to babysitting. 
2) The babysitters will not be forcing children to stay in the rooms and they will most likely not take them to the bathrooms. As the babysitters will not know the children, please check in on your children regularly while they are in groups with the babysitters. 
3) The babysitters will provide water, oreos and pretzels. If you would like, you can send your children with other snacks (nut free please), but please ask them not to share snacks with others.

General Announcements

Sisterhood Calendar Pickup
You can pick up your calendars at the shul on Motzei Shabbat After Maariv 7:40pm until 9pm, and 10:30pm-12am.
You can also pick up on Sunday Evening from 7:30pm-8:30pm at 61 Birch Dr.

Rosh Hashana Set Up Help
Please help us set up the shul for Rosh Hashana. 
Volunteers of all ages are needed immediately after Mincha/Maariv Sunday September 29th. Chesed Hours will be given for teens who come to help.

Saturday  8:30 - 10:00 pm 
Sun - Tues. 8:00 - 9:30 pm 
Wed - Fri  By appointment only

For Friday night and Yom Tov appointments please call or text Rochelle (516.456.1347)

The Mikveh will be open for men on Erev Rosh Hashana 10/2 and on Erev Yom Kippur 10/11 from 5 am-11 am. Men must bring their own towels and enter the premises by 10:45 am. No appointment is needed. Donations are appreciated and may be made at the Mikveh or online at:

If you want an announcement included in the weekly email, you must send it in an editable format (no pdf's) to announcements@yiplainview.org no later than the Tueday prior to the Shabbat on which you want the announcement to appear. Community announcements will not ordinarily be made on Shabbat morning, but will be included in the email.
