One year ago, on the first anniversary of the massacre at the Tree of Life * Or L’Simcha Congregation, AJC released the largest survey of American Jewry on antisemitism. The results were staggering: 88% of American Jews believe antisemitism is a problem in the U.S., 1/3 of American Jews hide outward symbols of their Judaism, and 1/3 of American Jews have experienced antisemitism in their lives. These were just a few of the key takeaways. Today, AJC released a follow up survey, including non-Jewish Americans, that shows that nearly half of Americans do not know what antisemitism is, with one in four (25%) saying they have heard of it but don’t know what it means and an astounding one in five (21%) saying they have never heard the word. Join us for an informative presentation which discusses the findings of this important survey and discussion of how to combat this.
