YIP Announcements
The Portnoy Family and the Young Israel of Plainview will commemorate the Tenth Yarzheit of our beloved Rabbi Moshe Portnoy zt"l on Monday March 30th at 7:45 PM in the Beis Medrash. The event will include a guest speaker, Rabbi Pesach Krohn, who knew Rabbi Portnoy personally. In addition we will complete Mishnayos Seder Moed and have a Siyum followed by a Seudas Mitzvah. The entire congregation is invited. Please see the link below or our shul web site to RSVP. Also the link and our web site provide an opportunity to be a sponsor of the event as well as to sign up to learn mishnayos for the Siyum. You can sponsor online or send a check to the shul noting the sponsorship in the memo. If your schedule does not allow attendance at the Siyum, you can still take part in the learning of mishnayos. Mechiras chametz and the power of attorney forms are available on the YIP website. We would greatly appreciate if you fill out the form in advance. Please note that a separate form is necessary for every household,
The schedule this year is similar to the number of days and hours available in previous years. Rabbi Weissman will handle the sale on erev Pesach and the purchase post Pesach. The meetings and signing of the shtar (contract) will be handled by a group of volunteers and we thank them for their time.

YIP Sisterhood will be offering a new service to the community. We are pleased to announce the establishment of the Bereavement Committee. This committee, chaired by Linda Chusid, will provide support to aveylim and their families during the first 24 hours of their loss. The committee will be available to help with covering mirrors, assisting at the house after the burial and any other details that may require attention during the initial hours of this difficult time.

Community Events and Notices
Please join us for our weekly Women's Tehillim group to be held next week on Tuesday night,3/31 @ 8:30 pm--at the home of Janet Akhavan - 527 Plainview Rd.
Our group is looking for more women to take part in this important act of chesed. For more than10 years, we have been gathering together to recite Tehillim (Psalms) on behalf of those who are ill. Many of you in the community have given us names of relatives and friends, and those names are recited aloud each week. If you have submitted a name, please think of taking on a more active role on behalf of your family members and friends, and come whenever you can.
