YIP Announcements

YU is proud to announce an exciting semester of Community Beit Midrash. This 6-week program will take place at the Yeshiva University Museum (15 West 16th Street) on Wednesdays, October 29 - December 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Sessions will feature Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik, Director of the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought, Yeshiva University and Dr. Jacob Wisse, Director of Yeshiva University Museum and Associate Professor of Art History, Stern College for Women who will co-present on the topic of: “The Image and the Idea: An Interdisciplinary Seminar on Art History and Jewish Thought.” For more information and to register for the courses, please visit http://www.yu.edu/beitmidrash.

YIP Youth is looking for another 2 babysitters to help out on R"H and Y"K....Please contact sara.maltzman@gmail.com with any referrals.  Sponsorships are also greatly needed to ensure we have enough babysitters!

YIP Youth is excited to offer babysitting services for children in grades Pre-K through 6th Grade on the Yamim Noraim. Supervision will run from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM each day. Babysitting is for children aged 3 and up. Games and snacks will be provided, but please send your children with a packed and labeled nut-free lunch.

Volunteers are also needed for educational programming- please reach out to us if you would be interested in helping out. If you are not able to volunteer, then sponsorship of $25 per child (or $50 per family) are requested to ensure sufficient supervision. Checks can be dropped off at 1 Oak Drive.

Please join us for our weekly Women's Tehillim group in Plainview on Monday night, @ 8:30 pm--at the home of Shelly Portnoy

Our group is looking for more women to take part in this important act of chesed. For the past 10 years, we have been gathering together to recite Tehillim (Psalms) on behalf of those who are ill. Many of you in the community have given us names of relatives and friends, and those names are recited aloud each week. If you have submitted a name, please think of taking on a more active role on behalf of your family members and friends, and come whenever you can.
