Invitations are on the way for the MALI Breakfast to be held on Sunday morning, May 4th at Colbeh at Temple Torah in Little Neck. The Mikveh is celebrating the Bat Mitzvah anniversary of its opening, and we will we pay tribute to guests of honor Diane and Howard Rabin and Chavera Ne'Emana Sally Neuhaus.

Movie – “Nicky’s Family “ Young Israel of Plainview and Hebrew Academy of Nassau County invite you to join us on Yom HaShoah for a special screening of Nicky's Family tells the nearly forgotten story of Nicholas Winton, an Englishman who organized the rescue of 669 Czech and Slovak children just before the outbreak of World War II.  Special Guest Speaker,  Hanna Slome,  one of the children in Nicky’s Family, will share her experience with us.  Program suitable for all ages.  Sunday, April 27, 2014 6:45 pm (Mincha Minyan at 6:30 pm) Hebrew Academy of Nassau County 25 Country Drive | Plainview RSVP by April 13th. Suggested Donation Support $10 per person | $18 per couple | $50 per family/sponsorship

Welcome teens from the FNL shabbaton!

There will be a 1st and 2nd grade oneg on Shabbat day at the Marzouk
household at 5 PM! Hope to see you there

Pesach Haggadah!

All children, teens, and families are encouraged to write Divrei Torah
and/or draw pictures about Pesach, to be compiled into a nice Youth
Haggadah booklet for the entire shul. We would like to have as many
Divrei Torah and pictures as possible.

This is a great way to empower the children of our community to take
ownership over a Dvar Torah that has been shared with families at
Pesach sedarim all over Plainview. We hope this Haggadah booklet will
enhance your seder, and are looking forward to many responses!

Save the date: Sunday, April 6 at 11 AM at HANC Plainview.  JHC and HANC Plainview invite you to a Pre-Pesach Program for children under 5 and their parents.   Make a craft, sing, nosh, and play in the indoor playscape!  Free; Everyone is welcome.

YIP Youth is creating a pilot program of an “oneg wheel” and/or “meal wheel,” in order to better cater to your child’s grade. Please email Josh/Sara if you would be interested in hosting a periodic Shabbat event at your home for your child’s circle of friends. This program’s success is dependent on all parents’ participation!


We are always looking for new hosts for onegs! Contact Josh/Sara if you would be interested in hosting an upcoming oneg for your child's grade!

Community Events and Notices

Please join us for our weekly Women's Tehillim group in Plainview--on Monday night,  8:30 pm

Each week, a group of women gather together to recite Tehillim (Psalms) on behalf of those who are ill. Many of you in the community have given us names of relatives and friends, and those names are recited aloud each week. If you have submitted a name, please think of taking on a more active role on behalf of your family members and friends.
