Weekly Schedule

6:00pm - Shabbat Hagadol Derasha - Pesach with the Piaserczner Rebbe. In the years leading up to World War II, Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira, the Piaseczner Rebbe, distinguished himself as one of the great educators and Jewish leaders of his time.  His role transformed in the Warsaw Ghetto when his weekly sermons became the source of strength and inspiration for his suffering Chasidim. New research has led some to question the solidity of the Rebbe’s faith in his waning days in the Ghetto. This year’s Shabbat Hagadol Derasha will, through his comments about Pesach, explore the shifting nature of the Rebbe’s faith and how it might make our own Pesach a more meaningful experience. Morning after Leining: Brief Historical Introduction. Concurrent Youth program and babysitting will be available. 

Weekday:
Tuesday, 8:00 pm, Insights and Inspirations on Sefer Tehillim led by Shelly Portnoy will be cancelled next week, but Tehillim will take place on Tuesday at 8:30 pm at the home of Debbie Taub. To add or update a name on the Tehillim list, please e-mail Ruth at rlorbert@gmail.com.  

Wednesday, 8:30pm - Yoetzet Avital Weissman will be giving a weekly class on Sefer Bereishit in the Shul. (Please note: This class is on hiatus until after Pesach. It will resume on May 1)

HELPING THOSE IN NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY
The Mid-Island Y JCC Is proud to announce...Project Replenish. With support from the local Jewish community, we are helping to alleviate hunger insecurity among our neighbors. The Jewish Communal Fund Food Pantry at the Mid-Island Y JCC provides seniors, individuals and families with essential food, toiletry and household items. Donations will benefit the Mid-Island Y JCC’s Jewish Communal Fund Food Pantry & The Hatzilu Rescue Organization.  The donation bin is located In the Rabbi’s office. No glass or expired food, please.
